MAN - STAR TRUCKS – a short history
The history of MAN in Poland starts in 1980, when the company sold to DROMEX 800 construction vehicles (an international construction company, which in those days was mostly active on the Near East markets / Iraq / Jordan and North Africa).
In the beginning of 1993 a sales company MAN Pojazdy Użytkowe Polska (MAN Commercial Vehicles Poland) has been found. In 1994 the company has opened near Góra Kalwaria its own central spare part warehouse. Also the construction of a new seat of the importing company has been started. The new seat has been officially opened on the 30th April 1998.
In December 1999 the MAN Group has taken over the polish truck producer STAR S.A.. As a result of that step, the company STAR TRUCKS has been founded, which had produced and sold the STAR vehicles, constructed in Starachowice using the MAN technology.
In November 2001 MAN Pojazdy Użytkowe Polska and the Sales Division of the company STAR TRUCKS have joined their forces and formed MAN - STAR TRUCKS Sp. z o.o. This company is active in the field of sales and aftersales services of MAN and STAR vehicles in Poland.
At present there are 4 Trucks Centres in Wolica, Tarnowo Podgórne, Czeladź and Starachowice as well as 20 Authorised Service Stations.
